Once you notice resistance, stop dragging the throttle cables forward. It’s important to attach the cable housing to the frame in this position and tighten the jam nuts at the front.

Pulling the throttle up past a point where you encounter resistance can allow the engine to engage the throttle while the pedal is still idle. There should not be too much or too little tension in the cable.

Adjust your cables properly. Make sure both your front and back jam nuts are tight, as well as your engine’s throttle, is idle, and your foot is securely in place against the rear stop.
